Prez’s Blog – 21/6/2015

A big weekend ahead for our panthers which sees our premier division side travel to Newcastle to take on rivals Cardiff and hopefully continue their strong unbeaten start to the season.

Coach Bishop has them playing well drilled football at the moment and we are looking forward to seeing this continue.

2nd grade travel to Wyong for a top of the table clash and judging by last time they met it should be a cracker.

3rd grade also are at Wyong to take on the Magpies and as always will be a tough hit out.

Last weekend saw all grades together at our “home away from home” Bateau Bay and resulted in three great defensive efforts

3rds kicked of the day in style and whilst it was a slow start from our boys the second half was a fantastic running and defensive effort with B Lawson and G Bohan running riot through the defense and T Kosmier and J Richardson finishing off the good work.  Solid efforts also to all three Studdert boys and S Williams

2nd grade were switched on right from the get-go, A White and A Darling were instrumental up forward along with youngster A Warren who put in a superb debut in 2nd grade.

However it was the midfield led by J Farquhar, A Austin and S Lynch that stole the show.  Special mention to B Ssarich down back for a great defensive show.

Last time we met in premier division it was a real slog in the wet, this time however conditions were a lot more favorable and we were switched on from the start with J Gourlay having sublime delivery given to him by reigning two time Elliot Davey medal winner J Webster and the ever consistent C Bishop, Kurt Flemming was in everything along with C Billins who was back to his annoying pesky best. A Richardson led the defense well in his return along with S Boughton who gave great tap service in the ruck

Two guys that made their senior debut in Ethan Formby and Sam Korsch didn’t disappoint and fitted in extremely well and hope to see them improve throughout the year

    Well done fellas!

Don’t forget our next senior function is our Ping Pong night at Breakers, Saturday 4th July. Hope to see you all there

See u back at breakers after all matches for awards

    Go panthers
